Canadian Tuxedo 2.0

Let’s talk about denim – the All-American staple that somehow turns Canadian when you wear too much of it. Very perplexing.

I, however, think you can never have enough denim in your outfit. After all, the blue-jean color goes with almost anything, so go on and layer up!

For today’s look, I paired my shearling lined jean jacket with a button-up denim skirt; their colors are similar enough to make the look cohesive. Since stripes are basically a neutral for me, I chose a long-sleeved striped shirt to break up the heavy denim pieces. I like these black thigh-high boots from Sam Edelman because they make a statement without being over and top, and they have a toggle at the top so that they don’t fall down, which is so so helpful.

Of course we had to shoot this on the one rainiest day of the month, so if you think these pictures look like they were taken in an apartment complex, you might just be correct. But sometimes you gotta improvise, right?
