Designer Spotlight: Sophia Webster

Haven’t heard of Sophia Webster yet? Have you been living under a rock!?!

I apologize for my slight outbreak, but Ms. Webster is definitely a designer to watch. Her intricate yet cheeky shoes and bags have been attracting a lot of attention lately from stars like Chloe Moretz, Rita Ora, and Nina Dobrev. Even Rhianna has a pair named in her honor!

After working under Nicolas Kirkwood (and being his protégé), Sophia launched her own collection in the Spring/Summer 2013 season and instantly sparked attention from big names in fashion. Anna Dello Russo was even spotted on the red carpet wearing a pair of Webster’s signature booties. Her quirky-chic style is featured heavily in accessories like speech bubble clutches and cotton candy colored sandals.

Her most recent collection, and perhaps my favorite so far, features detailed, laser-cut butterflies delicately placed over beautiful flats and sandals. Can you say amazing? Her design aesthetic is as beautiful as she is, not to mention the London-based designer is the only shoe designer to ever have won the New Gen award for two seasons in a row!

Beautiful shoes, stunning bags, mystifying creativity, what’s not to love? Keep an eye out for Sophia Webster this year- she’s definitely going places. Check out her website for more amazing shoes: http://www.sophiawebster.co.uk

Let me know what other designers to review!
