Ways To Make Your Eyes Pop

They say eyes are the windows to the soul. I know, this analogy is very old, but if it is true, wouldn’t you rather have sparkly windows that have personality rather than dull, blank windows? I would, and I assume most of you would as well. Today I’m going to be showing you some ways to make your eyes stand out with some easy makeup tricks!

Midas Touch – Think full-on gold shadow is a little intimidating? You don’t need a lid covered in gold to sparkle- blend some of the metallic shadow into the inner third of your lower lashline to give your eyes some effortless character.

Colorful Liner – This season is all about saturated color on the eyelids. Since that’s a bit bright for everyday, I prefer to draw a thin line of a colored liner on top of a cat eye to give subtle drama. Try liners in dark greens, blues, and plums.

Layer your Mascara – These days there are so many mascaras to choose from that it’s a bit overwhelming. Since mascara has a very short shelf life (only 6 months!), I prefer to buy it from the drugstore from trusted brands like L’Oreal and Maybelline – two for the price of one high-end tube! Look for one that promises length, and another that supplies volume. Layering these two separates your lashes and makes your eyes even more noticeable!

Find the Perfect Base – Everyone wants lids that look radiant without being flashy. To achieve this look, start with a shimmery eye shadow primer that will instantly give your eyes a natural glow.

I recommend: Urban Decay Eye Primer Potion in Sin

Keep the Face Neutral – If you are going for dramatic eyes, stick to neutral colors on the lips and cheeks. Going for a natural blush and a nude lip will have everyone focusing on your amazing eyes!

I recommend: Benefit Silky-Finish Lipstick in Jing-a-Ling

However you add drama to your eyes, make sure to have fun with it and keep experimenting with different looks to find the one that works for you!
