My favorite season is finally here – and no, I don’t mean football season. I mean fall! Sweaters and boots, hot tea and snuggly blankets, the list goes on and on. Now, being that fall is one of the best seasons for fashion, we’ve got to know how to dress to impress! I love making inspiration boards for each season, and I’m excited to share with you some of my picks for looking great in these cold, autumn months.
1. Black and White – Yes, this trend is timeless and shouldn’t be tied to one season, but designers are going above and beyond to create luxurious looks that feel expensive – think velvet, leather, and detailing galore. The clothes, bags, and shoes make any woman seem fit for a walk down Fifth Avenue, and, when done correctly, slim the silhouette and play up your best assets. This trend isn’t only for celebrities paying the big bucks for handmade items – you can incorporate it into any look. Just search for pieces that look special and expensive, even if they aren’t. Black and white accessories can pair with any outfit to make it pop and look more modern.
2. Small Purses – This season’s “it” bag seems to be a small, black cross-body or clutch with subtle features like hardware or mesh. At a glance, these purses are simple, but up close you can see the special touches you would otherwise miss. Monochromatic detailing adds a minimalistic vibe to your look, which is huge this fall. I especially love the bags that are plain except for a small metal detail, such as gold zippers or silver clasps.
3. Dark Lips – ‘Tis the season to be vampy! Up your bad-girl vibe with a cranberry or black cherry lip color- it is sure to turn heads. If you’re a little scared of going all the way badass, try a lipstain or a tinted lip balm, they still add color but have less impact. Pair your tough lips with an equally tough moto jacket and tuxedo-striped pants. Or, challenge stereotypes by wearing a girly, petal pink dress with a beige sweater and heels that match your lips.
4. Booties – Ankle-boots are a hit this season- and they’re so easy to pull off! While my favorites are of course leather, lace-up booties, there are so many styles to choose from. Whether you’ve got cutouts, fur, mesh, or open-toe, I guarantee you’ll find some that can work with your style. Right now, I’m loving the Fendi fur booties because they are so over the top and luxurious that I can’t help but covet them.
So these are the trends I’ll be working this season. What is on your style board for fall? Comment below!
